“Farming in Cumbria is being swallowed up by nature and net zero”!

  1. Truer words were never spoken. Our parish in SW Scotland has been swallowed by trees – specifically Sitka or other commercial softwoods. And the detriment to the community is awful. We are one of the “last farms standing” and get asked in Dumfries mart each year when we sell our lambs – “did you remember to switch the lights off when you left”. My youngest daughter was the last through the village school before it closed. Keep fighting.

  2. your words are so true Adam. Reminds me of the old saying “Live as though you’ll die tomorrow and farm as though you’ll farm forever” – so we keep heads down and carry on as best as we can. Sadly farmers are a minority in the country now and although they are seen as asset rich, many are cash poor and not financially able to fight big institutions and MPs. Thank you for fighting in our behalf – we all support you.
